Ridiculous Innovation No. 067 - The Third Ply

I am all for innovation. I yell it at my future potential unborn children every morning so they will not forget when they are born. "Innovate!" I tell them. Sometimes I like to mix it up with a good "Always bet on black!" You know, just to keep them on their toes.

But some innovations are just ridiculous. Not the good kind of ridiculous that borders on ri-DONK-ulous. The bad kind. The kind that invites ridicule. Like such:

I bought 3-ply toilet paper recently. Not because I need that much ply-age but it was on sale so hey, why not. It's like 32 double roles in 1 mega-ginormous roll! the packaging was screaming at me, and hey, if you're not going to listen to toilet paper packaging, you might as well not consider yourself a listener.

I'm not sure who decided to add a 3rd ply but their mother obviously did not shout slogans at her ovaries for 15 minutes every day to encourage creativity. Because that 3rd ply? Absolutely useless and wasteful. I suppose I can understand quilting and upping the absorption factor as being TP "innovations" but let's be real. Toilet paper is toilet paper. There's no room for much innovating, after you add lotion and make it soft. After that, it's all down the drain.
